🌞 Now Accepting Sign-Ups: Highland Summer Adventures 2026! 🌞
We’re excited to share that Highland Summer Adventures, our summer child care program for elementary-aged children, is officially open for Summer 2026 sign-ups! 🎉
This program is designed to provide a safe, structured, and engaging summer experience while offering families a reliable child care option. Students will enjoy fun activities, build friendships, and stay connected with familiar faces from our Highland community. We are also planning to allow enrollment for students who are not currently enrolled at Highland.
📍 Location: Highland Elementary School
🕡 Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
👧🧒 Ages: Children age 4 by June 1, 2026 through incoming 5th graders: (Availability for 4-year-olds will depend on enrollment interest)
📝 Next Step:
To help us plan for staffing and programming, families are asked to complete the initial sign-up form (one per child). Families who complete the form will receive a formal registration link at a later date. A $25 registration fee will apply when formal registration opens. Additional program details will be shared in our official program handbook which will be released soon.

🐾 IGHSAU State Wrestling Championships Update (1A)
Highland is bringing home hardware! 💪🏅
Chloe Sexton finished the IGHSAU State Wrestling Championships in 7th place, and Adley Sweeting earned an 8th place finish!
❤️ And what was just as impressive was the amount of support Highland showed all week! There was a TON of red in the stands at Xtream Arena, and we know there were so many fans supporting from home as well. We truly appreciate it!
And the best part? Chloe, Adley, and Maiya return next year. The future is bright for Highland Wrestling!

IGHSAU State Wrestling Championships Update (1A)
Highland had three wrestlers compete during the opening session of the IGHSAU State Wrestling Championships at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
Chloe Sexton and Adley Sweeting each went 2-1 in Session 1 and have officially secured spots in the Top 8. That means both are now guaranteed state place winners — an outstanding accomplishment!
Maiya Singbeil finished 1-2, and her season has come to an end. We couldn’t be prouder of Maiya for qualifying for the state tournament as a sophomore. Her future is incredibly bright, and this experience is just the beginning.

Highland Girls Wrestling is making school history! This marks a historic moment for our program, with more state qualifiers than we’ve ever had in girls wrestling!
State Qualifiers:
🤼♀️ 120 lbs – Adley Sweeting (35–1)
🤼♀️ 140 lbs – Maiya Singbeil (23–7)
🤼♀️ 190 lbs – Chloe Sexton (21–9)
These outstanding athletes have earned the opportunity to compete at the Iowa Girls State Wrestling Tournament on February 5th & 6th, 2026, at Xtream Arena in Coralville, IA.
