Today, Mr. Jones’ 7th Grade Tech Skills class took learning to new heights as students navigated an exciting drone obstacle course in the gym! 🏀✨
Students piloted drones through a challenging course of hoops and targets, practicing precision flying, problem-solving, and teamwork while applying the technology skills they’ve been learning in class. From takeoff to landing, it was impressive to see their focus and control as they maneuvered through each obstacle.
Hands-on activities like this bring STEM learning to life and give students a chance to explore real-world technology in a fun, engaging way. Great job to all of our student pilots today! 👏

On Monday, March 2nd, our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students at Highland Elementary had the exciting opportunity to meet author Kelsey (Gent) Byrnes!
Kelsey is the owner of Dance Around the Kitchen and the soon-to-be published author of the delightful new children’s book, A Kitchen Tradition! In her book, Kelsey celebrates the joy of family, food, and the special traditions that bring generations together in the heart of the home—the kitchen. Through engaging storytelling and relatable themes, students explore the importance of connection, culture, and creating meaningful memories with loved ones.
During her visit, Kelsey shared her journey to becoming an author, talked about the inspiration behind her book, and encouraged students to embrace their own creativity and family traditions. It was a wonderful opportunity for our young readers to meet a real author and be inspired by her story!
