What a night for Highland Girls Basketball! With a hard-fought 63–59 double-overtime win on the road against Louisa-Muscatine, our Huskies officially finished SEISC conference play undefeated for the FIRST TIME in school history!

Highland Girls Wrestling is making school history! This marks a historic moment for our program, with more state qualifiers than we’ve ever had in girls wrestling!
State Qualifiers:
🤼♀️ 120 lbs – Adley Sweeting (35–1)
🤼♀️ 140 lbs – Maiya Singbeil (23–7)
🤼♀️ 190 lbs – Chloe Sexton (21–9)
These outstanding athletes have earned the opportunity to compete at the Iowa Girls State Wrestling Tournament on February 5th & 6th, 2026, at Xtream Arena in Coralville, IA.

It’s been a HUGE stretch for Highland, and our Huskies are making noise across the board!
🏀 HIGHLAND GIRLS BASKETBALL = CONFERENCE CHAMPS
Our Husky Girls Basketball team made headlines by clinching the Superconference North Championship, marking their FIRST North title since 2008! 🏆👏
With the win, the Huskies completed a perfect 13–0 conference run, an incredible achievement and a true testament to their hard work, toughness, and team chemistry. Way to make history, girls! 🔥🐺

ALL Highland Speech Team members have qualified for STATE in at least one event (some in TWO!), and they’ll be competing next Saturday at Clear Creek for a shot at All-State honors!

In an effort to help families plan ahead, we want to notify you that Highland Community School District will operate on a 2-hour delay on Monday, January 19th, due to predicted cold weather conditions and the potential for blowing snow throughout the evening.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we make adjustments to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff. There will be no morning activities and no breakfast served.
