Our 9th graders are diving into the American Civil War, and Mrs. Duder is bringing history right into the classroom!📚
As a Civil War Living Historian, Mrs. Duder shared a museum-quality reproduction dress representing what women of the era would have worn. 👗 Students are learning not only about the soldiers who fought, but also the important roles women played on the battlefield and homefront. 🌾🏭
What a fun way to step beyond the textbook and see history come to life! 🤩🐾❤️

Following her success at the Iowa State Fair, where she earned Grand Champion Breeding Heifer, Kestyn had the opportunity to write an article featured on pages 164–165 of the magazine! 🏆👏

Our third graders have been learning all about crayfish and took their learning hands-on! 🦞🔬📚
We had some VERY brave kiddos who were willing to hold their new little friends! 😲👏❤️ There may have been a few nervous giggles along the way, but these Huskies were up for the challenge! 😂

A fun Friday in Kindergarten!
👟🍎 We played the Shoe Game—while students worked on introducing themselves, I learned names and they practiced matching skills.
Over the weekend, it was the big in-state football game, students graphed their favorite team: “Who is your favorite team? Hawkeyes, Cyclones, or Huskies?” You will find the graph posted in the classroom. May the best team win! 💛🖤💛❤️

Today, four Highland Agriculture Education students traveled to the Washington County Fairgrounds to present on water safety during Washington County 5th Grade Safety Day! 🚤🌊☀️
Our students taught area 5th graders about:
🛟 The importance of wearing a life jacket
✅ How to properly wear one and choose the correct size
🚤 Equipment needed for a boat safety check
❄️🌊 Important water safety tips for the winter months
What a great day of learning, leadership, and sharing knowledge! 📚👏 These girls did an amazing job representing Highland and our surrounding communities while helping younger students learn how to stay safe on the water. ❤️🤍🖤🐾
