Highland Fifth Grade Donates to PAWS & More Animal Shelter

February 13, 2019

Highland Elementary's school store donated $200 to PAWS & More in Washington this week so they can purchase new tires for their van. Although the original plan was to donate money at the end of the school year, we saw their need and decided to donate now. The fifth graders agreed that they wanted to donate a portion of our profits to help animals so this was a perfect opportunity.

We are very thankful for the families and teachers that have donated items and for the fifth graders that chose to make slime at home to sell. The many students that visit our store each week also have a big part in helping raise the money. Ms. Strubbe is very grateful for all the fifth graders. They promote the store, sell items and make change, take inventory, help younger students with their purchases, set up and clean up, suggest what inventory to purchase, and take ownership of the store with the knowledge that the money we make will be used to help others.
