Highland Student Excels at the Kirkwood Regional Center in Washington

September 10, 2019

Zach Willman, son of Jim & Tammi Horak, and senior at Highland High School, is returning for his second year of coursework. As a junior Zach completed the Arts & Science II academy, and is enrolled in Arts & Science I academy this year. “I first became interested in enrolling in college credit courses because I heard that they were free! The real reason though is because I wanted to be able to get a jump-start on my college classes while in high school, which will help to advance my college program start.” Zach plans to enroll in the Diagnostic Technician program, a partnership program through Kirkwood and Mercy St. Luke’s hospitals. Because Zach chose to enroll in concurrent credit classes while in high school he will only have a handful of general education class requirements to complete before he is able to focus on his program specific courses.
